Welcome to the Delaware Capitol Police Website

The Delaware Capitol Police is dedicated to the protection of elected and appointed officials, state employees, visitors to State facilities, State facilities and properties as directed by the Secretary of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, through the delivery of professional law enforcement services, utilizing sworn police officers, security officers, and civilian staff.
 
As part of our goal, we will continually strive to;
  • Provide police services in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Institute and maintain procedures that allow state agencies the ability to provide services and perform without interruption.
  • Initiate and maintain procedures that provide for the safety of state employees and visitors while at state facilities / properties.
  • Provide specialized police services to the General Assembly to ensure the safety of the legislators, staff, constituents, and visitors while providing the General Assembly with the ability to perform their duties without interruption.
  • Provide specialized police services to the Judiciary to ensure the safety of the justices, judges, commissioners, staff, clients, and visitors while providing the Judiciary with the ability to perform their duties without interruption.
  • Provide specialized police services, in coordination with the Division of State Police, to the Governor's Office to ensure the safety of the Governor, Lt Governor, staff, and visitors to the Governor's and Lt Governor's offices and the official residence, Woodburn, providing the Governor and Lt Governor's offices with the ability to perform their duties without interruption.
  • Initiate and maintain procedures that provide mechanisms to prevent and respond to threats against state facilities to include acts of terrorism, natural disasters or other situations requiring a coordinated response by law enforcement and non-law enforcement entities.
  • Interaction with our community by involving leaders, organizations and the public in a proactive law enforcement approach to prevent and deter criminal activity at the state facilities.

We will be diligent, responsible and committed to accomplishing these goals and dedicated to our chosen profession, law enforcement.
