Community Policing Duties

In an effort to enhance our current efforts, the Division of Capitol Police has undertaken a new direction that is popular among other law enforcement agencies, community policing. While the division does not service a traditional community, it does in fact have a similar responsibility to the employees of the State of Delaware and its surrounding communities.

The division has provided a training program on “Violence in the Workplace” and “Crime Prevention”. Many hours of research and preparation have culminated into a seminar with the presentation of information relating to workplace violence and its effect on the workplace and the employees. An explanation as to what workplace violence is, statistics, reporting, and what to expect of workplace managers and members of law enforcement when these actions are carried out by employees, co-workers, managers, or customers is all covered by the Delaware Capitol Police during the seminar.
